We've had a great No Pens Day today with so much practical learning happening in school as well as opportunities for children to develop their speaking and listening skills.
There have been lots of games of Hot Potato played, with children having to think quickly of a word linked to a given theme. Themes were linked to topics the children are learning as well as some fun themes testing their general knowledge. Children in Year 6 had a debate to consider whether computer games should be banned. Some great arguments were put forward for both sides of the argument and a vote decided that they should not be banned.
In Year 2 children made 3D shapes using straws and plasticine and in Year 3 children made 3D shapes using playing cards. Drama activities have been taking place across school with children getting into role as characters from their class text.
The day has been enjoyed by all of the children and staff and we thank Miss Byram for organising it for us. We hope to hold another No Pens Day in the Summer Term.
