We focus on learning with reading at the heart of everything we do

Year 1

The year 1 team - Mrs Marshall, Miss Tyas, Mrs Kirtlan and Mrs Moore – love to make learning fun and active. We are here to support you and your child on their special journey to achieve their very best.

On our page you will find information about what we have been learning and should you need to carry out any learning from home, this is where you'll find everything you will need.

As parents are not allowed inside our classroom at the moment, please send me a message via Class Dojo or contact the school office to leave a message if you need to talk to me for any reason. Many Thanks.

We have 3 key questions to explore this term:

HISTORY - Who was the first type of transport?

GEOGRAPHY – Which is the largest country in the UK?

SCIENCE – What is the strongest material?

This term, our school day starts at 9am and finishes at 3.25pm.

Once you have your reading book, make sure you bring it and your planner to

school every day.  Remember to read at home every day!

Bring your PE kit on a Monday and leave it at school.

Don't forget your water bottle so you can keep hydrated.

Independent Activities

As some parents are trying to get back to normal and possibly returning to work I have put together a bank of activities that your child will be able to complete more independently.

These do not have to be completed on top of the home learning activities they are simply there for your child to do if they wish to.

These Knowledge Organisers will help with what you'll need to know when completing maths activities over the next few weeks. I hope you find them useful and please do contact me if you have any problems.

PE Days

Don't forget to bring your book bag and water bottle to school every day.
