What's On wb 6th March

We were pleased to get back to school on Friday as we had a great day celebrating World Book Day. There were some fantastic costumes and children enjoyed sharing books with children from other classes and finding out more about well-known authors.

Tomorrow our theme days continue with a Maths Day. A company called Spaghetti Maths are coming into school to deliver exciting maths workshops to children in Years 2 to 6. The rest of the day children will be enjoying problem solving activities in class. Children in Foundation Stage and Year 1 will also be enjoying a day of maths activities.

Look out for letters coming home tomorrow for children in Years 2 to 6 about a new after-school Maths Club run by Spaghetti Maths that will be starting after Easter. We're the first Doncaster school to run one of these clubs so we're really excited about it and hope lots of children get involved.

On Wednesday, as part of their topic, Year 4 have a surgeon coming into talk about his work. Also on Wednesday, some children in Key Stage 2 will be going to Sunnyfields Primary for a Cross Country event. Good luck to them.

On Thursday there is a Cycling Skills Day for children in Key Stage 2 and on Friday there is a competition in-school for children in Years 1 to 5 run by Active Fusion. Children will do a range of activities and be scored for them. Their scores will be compared with classes in schools across Doncaster and the highest scoring classes will be invited to a final at the Dome. Last year the current Years 3 and 5 attended the finals. Hopefully we can get to the finals again this year.

Due to the weather the Book Fair was unable to be delivered on Friday. We're hoping for it to arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. A text will be sent out to let you know when it will be opening.
