We focus on learning with reading at the heart of everything we do

Wb 16th April

This week Year 5 are visiting the National Space Centre on Tuesday as part of their Stargazers topic. This should be a really exciting day for them.

Also on Tuesday, we have our Bedtime Stories event from 5pm to 6pm in the Infant Hall. Letters went out about this last week, please return your slip to school tomorrow if you'd like to attend if you haven't done so already.

On Wednesday Castleford Tigers are coming into school to work with the children in Year 4.

This week the children in Year 6 are going to be doing some practise SATs tests to prepare them for the real tests that they'll be doing week beginning 14th May.

Most clubs will get started this week. Last week Spaghetti Maths had a very successful first session, with all the children being engaged in the session. This week they'll be looking at helicopter flight as part of the club. Chill Out Club was very popular last week with lots of children enjoying the opportunity of doing some quieter activities indoors at lunchtime. This week sports clubs are starting and also a new choir will be starting on a Tuesday lunchtime in preparation for a concert at Doncaster Dome in June. Letters will be sent home this week with children who express an interest. Please note that the KS1 gymnastics club doesn't begin until Wednesday 23rd April.
