Key Worker Provision Update
Thank you to those of you have contacted us expressing an interest in the childcare provision for key workers and children with EHCPs or have a social worker.
We still haven't received guidance from the government on which jobs are classed as key workers. This was supposed to be published this afternoon, then 10pm tonight and now it's just been said by the Health Secretary that it will be published tomorrow.
An important update that we have now received from the Local Authority is that such a place can only be made available to children in families where both parents/carers are key workers or where the child is resident with a single parent who is a key worker i.e. if there is another household member who can provide the child care, a place cannot be made available at the school.
We realise that this will be frustrating for some of you and will make child care difficult and perhaps lead to one of you needing to take time off work. However, in unprecedented times like these, we have to ensure we strictly follow the guidance that we are given.
Once we have received the guidance we'll contact those families who've expressed an interest to let you know if we can provide a place for your child.
