We focus on learning with reading at the heart of everything we do

Remote Learning

Here's where you will find everything that you need to be learning at home.

Each week I will upload the suggested timetable for your learning which we do hope you will try to do as much of as you can.

Click on the link below for support materials if your child is finding some of the main learning difficult. If you require some additional worksheets for your child so that they can independently practise key skills please click the link for Additional Worksheets.

Welcome to Reception!

Our teacher in Reception is Miss Robertson.

Our support staff are Mrs Theaker, Mrs Duffield and Mrs Moore.

Our class Governor is Father D'Silva.

As from 5th January 2021 the PM announced that schools were to move to Remote Learning. Please see below the Remote Learning for Reception. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Miss Robertson on ClassDojo.

The classroom door opens at 8:45 and is closed at 9am.

Your child must bring their reading book and planner to school everyday.

PE kits should be brought to school on Monday and left on your child's peg until Friday.

In a morning we follow a structure in FS2. We start our day with Rhyme Time where we sing a selection of nursery rhymes and songs. After this we have a  45 minute phonics and High frequency word session. During this the children learn sounds and words from phases 2, 3 and 4. We then have a literacy and a maths lesson. The children access enhanced and continuous provision all day working alongside lessons.

In an afternoon we learn about a range of subjects and develop lots of skills through adult and child-led challenges. We will be learning about lots of different subjects throughout the year and the children will have lots of opportunities to learn about and enjoy the wider curriculum.

Early Reading:

At Rosedale we work hard to ensure each child has the opportunity to be a successful, confident and happy reader. In order to do this the children in Reception read to an adult every day. We have high expectations for all children to be confident readers, in order to support your child, we ask that you read and share stories at home as much as possible. Please make a note in your child's planner when you have read with them.

Curriculum Themes for Reception

We are going to be learning about lots of fun and exciting things this year.

Term  Themes

Where do I live?

What does my body do?

Why are toys different?

Where are toys from?

How is my house different to a farm?

What is a living thing?

Parental Involvement:

Unfortunately due to COVID 19 parents are not able to come into the classroom until further notice.

If you wish to contact Miss Robertson please do so using Class Dojo, or by calling the Infant Office. All messages will be responded to outside of school learning times.
