We are going to be learning about lots of fun and exciting things this year.

What to bring to class every day:

  • A water bottle
  • Reading pack provided by Miss Robertson

*Please provide a spare change of clothes for your child if you feel this is necessary.

We foster a love for the outdoors so you'll find us doing lots of wonderful things outside each day. Please provide waterproofs so that your child is appropriatley dressed for all weather conditions.

Literacy and Phonics:
In F2 we learn our phonics using Letters and Sounds.

We learn new sounds in our daily phonics sessions.
We are learning to form letters correctly during our handwriting sessions following Letterjoin.

We are learning to read words and simple sentences by sight and to know how to find information from books, ipads and computers.

In F2 we are learning to count, recognise, write and order numbers to 20. We are developing our understanding of addition, subtraction, doubling and halving. We also are using our knowledge of time and money to access learning challenges in our classroom.

Communication and Language:

To develop our speaking and listenning skills we have circle time everyday, we also learn to express our opinions and feelings during our Philosophy for Children sessions.

Our P.E day is Tuesday. We are very lucky to have two fantastic sports coaches who help us develop our physical skills.

Children can come into school in their P.E kit on this morning. Please bring their school clothes in a separate bag.

Parental Involvement:

  • Stay and Learn

In Spring Term we will be hosting 'Stay and Learn' sessions for family members to stay and get involved in their child's learning. These will take place every Monday from 9am until 9:30.

  • Topic Leaflets

As a way of keeping parents up-to-date on our developing curriculum there are topic leaflets available. These tell you all about the fantastic learning we will be doing over that half term.

  • Feedback

We welcome and value parental feedback. We have 'Wow Moments' and 'Proud Cloud' boards in our classroom for parents and carers to contribute to.

*You will also be able to find updated news on our parent notice board, on our website and on the schools social media pages. Miss Robertson can also be contacted on Class Dojo. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
