Nursery Remote Learning Week Beginning 1st February 2021

Nursery Remote Learning Week beginning 25th January 2021

The Nursery team - Mrs Baker and Mrs Jackson – are excited to meet you! We love to make learning fun, hands on and exciting! We are here to support you and your child on the start of their learning journey.

We have worked really hard to make improvements to our outdoor learning environment. The children are really enjoying exploring and learning through play in the outdoors.

On our page, you will find information about what we have been learning and should you need to carry out any learning from home, this is where you'll find everything you will need.

Should you need to contact me, please send me a message via Class Dojo or contact the school office and leave a message and I will get back to you.

Many Thanks

Mrs Baker

We have 3 key questions to explore this term:

HISTORY - What's happened to me?

GEOGRAPHY – Where do I go to school?

SCIENCE – What can my body do?

This term, our school day starts at 9am and finishes at 12pm for children who are eligible for 15 hours of free childcare, 3pm for children who are eligible for 30 hours of free childcare.

Please bring a water bottle, with your name on, to school everyday.

Home Learning in Case of School Closure

In the event of a school closure due to Coronavirus, this is where your child's teacher will communicate about any learning to be done at home.

Dear Nursery Children and Parents,

I hope you are all keeping safe and well at this time. Your child has a home learning pack with lots of learning opportunities to keep them very busy. Please support them with this. I will be putting on here which one I would like you to help with.  In the mean time please help your child everyday to:

All children:

Count forwards from 0 to 10 and backwards from 10 to 0

Count objects - these could be lego bricks, toys, sweets, fruit anything that you have!

Count actions, claps jumps etc up to 10

For children who have been in Nursery since last year as above plus...

Recognise numbers 1-6

All children:

Share a story- talk about the characters. Ask your child "What happens next?" "How will the story end?"

Say rhyming words together mat, cat, hat etc... dog, log, frog...

For children who have been in Nursery since last year as above plus...

Use the laminated name writing sheet and whiteboard pen

Use the phonics cards in your pack to recognise the letters

There are also lots of home learning sheets on Twinkl that would be great for you to do with your child at home during this time.

Thank you

Mrs Baker

Please check out Rosedale's Facebook page for story videos. Enjoy them together!

Monday 23rd March

Good morning everyone!

I really hope that you are all well and staying safe. Please see above for learning to do at home every day. The Jo Wicks live P.E. session started this morning and will be on each weekday morning at 9am to help us all keep fit and healthy at home. The Nursery children love to do CBeebies Supermovers with Andy at school. Please google this and do this at least three times a week! There are different ones to choose from and are quite short but the children love it! Take care everyone!

I have also put this message on Class DoJo this morning. Each child was sent home with their Parent log in last week. Please connect to class DoJo as soon as possible if you haven't already done so.

Thank you

Mrs Baker

Your child also brought home their Purple Mash log in last week for them to access the mini mash learning opportunities at home. Please log on to Purple Mash ASAP. Thank you.

Welcome to Foundation Stage 1!

We have a really exciting year planned for FS1!

Our teacher in FS1 is Mrs Baker.

Things to Bring Every Day

- a water bottle

- a spare change of clothes

- a book bag

We P.E. with Doncaster Rovers each Tuesday morning. We encouraged children to take their shoes and socks off only for P.E. so there is no need to bring a PE kit.
