School Visits

Very often the work children do begins from a visit to a particular place of interest. A wide range of educational visits are used to provide direct experience as a stimulus to learning and this is successfully reflected in the pupils work

It should be noted that the school complies fully with the LEA policy on safety on school visits. Full risk assessments are carried out and at least one qualified first-aider accompanies the visit.

Each year Year 5 pupils are offered the chance to have a week’s residential experience.   Traditionally it has been at the Old School Hostel—Robin Hood’s Bay. The school has been visiting here since 1987 and has built up a large stock of experience, resources and knowledge about this fascinating part of the world. Once your child is in Year 5, full details will be made available. It is safe to say that this visit is one of the most popular and enduring of Rosedale’s traditions.

(If a family is in receipt of certain benefits at the time of this visit, then all that is asked is a voluntary contribution towards the cost of transport. A remissions policy is in place throughout the LEA which helps towards the cost of board).

We ask for a voluntary contribution towards the cost of school visits. Without this contribution the school would be unable to offer such visits.
