Rosedale Doncaster Tag Rugby Champions!
Following last week's bronze medals at the county finals for gymnastics in Sheffield and winning the Y4 County Finals for football earlier this year, our talented pupils went on to win the Doncaster Schools Tag Rugby Final today at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Our super talented children were very well behaved and displayed incredible technique and athleticism throughout the tournament, winning every single match on the way to the final against a record number of schools in a tag rugby competition for this age group.
The final was a very competitive encounter against a very talented, strong running Adwick Primary School. Both schools were evenly matched throughout the match and we knew one try was going to be difference between the two teams. The game went into sudden death and with some nail biting moments for both schools; a superb winning try came from Rosedale Primary which brought home another sporting title to our school. Our pupils and parents celebrated in style!
This was another proud sporting moment for our school and a big thank you to all our parents who attended the event today and Mr Bennett for giving up his afternoon to help Mr Brown take the team. Without the support from both staff and parents this wouldn’t be possible.
The player of the tournament was very difficult to select due to how well all the pupils played but I would like to give a special mention to Charlie B for his passion, desire and bravery. I am sure Charlie will have a bright future playing the sport for many years to come
